Registered psychotherapist at Three Lamps. Psychodynamic psychotherapy for adults, Emotionally Focused Therapy for couples; in person and online.
Angela offers longer and shorter-term psychotherapy and has more than 10 years experience. Her approach is psychodynamic: exploring how past experiences shape current difficulties and usual ways of coping. The work is a partnership — supportive and respectful, with appropriate challenge to open the possibility of a more satisfying life.
Areas of interest include relationship difficulties, anxiety and depression, grief and loss, maternal mental health, fertility and secondary infertility. She also has a particular interest in how neurodivergence shows up in intimate relationships.
For couples Angela draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy training. She helps partners understand what makes relationships work, manage conflict and arguments more effectively, and find where they are getting stuck. There is a particular focus on de-escalating conflict through repair, and on building and enhancing friendship and love in everyday life together.
Before training as a psychotherapist Angela worked with new mothers, including those experiencing depression and anxiety around the birth of their baby. During her training she spent two years on placement with a maternal mental health service. Non-mobile babies are welcome.
